David Miliband impressed during visit to Humanitarian Centre

Posted by Florence Scialom, Tuesday, 27th April 2010 @ 6:13pm

  • The achievements of local organisations in their attempt to reduce the impact of global poverty were showcased to David Miliband, UK Foreign Secretary, during his visit to the Humanitarian Centre in April 2010.

Mr Miliband was given a tour of the Humanitarian Centre, based in Fenner’s, Gresham Road, Cambridge. He then got a chance to meet Cambridge-based organisations and academics engaged in innovative international projects and research.

When asked what he thought of the Humanitarian Centre at the end of his visit Mr. Miliband had this to say “I’m very impressed by the ethos, the commitment to values... of social justice and international responsibility, and real innovation... it’s exciting”.
