I decided to do the same. So I stopped working on my blog and
started writing my first e-book. It was "almost ready" by June
2014, and was basically a trafficzing review . It consisted of
stories about my weight loss journey, the conclusions I reached
about weight loss that helped me, tons of Superfoods articles and
a 6-week meal plan with 40-50 recipes.
Then I noticed on Amazon that every diet-book author has an
accompanying recipes book, so I thought, I'll add a recipe book
and sell it together with my diet book as a bonus. I figured I could
sell my 240-page diet book for $19, and sell my cookbook with
160 Superfoods recipes for the same amount. I also figured I
could sell both for $27 (a better deal for my customers), and
began to see myself easily earning $3000-$4000 per month while
helping a bunch of people! If Lindsay and Bjork were making more
than $4000 a month with one trafficzing review, I was sure I could do the
same with two books. I only needed my blog and those 2 books
and the world would learn how to lose weight and keep it off
forever.
On top of that, I decided to write a shorter version of my diet book,
as a low-hanging fruit, hoping to reach much more people. I called
that low-hanging fruit a 14 Days Detox book, and I planned to sell
it for $10. But when I put my books on my blog and started
blogging, I noticed that I had less than 10 visitors per day,
including me and my family (hello Mom!). No one even
commented on my blog, let alone bought a book.
Then I learned that PinchOfYum had more than one million
visitors and their blog was more than three years old, so I turned
to Internet gurus for trafficzing review on how to grow my blog and reach
thousands of people. Then I started to apply their advice about
commenting on other people blogs and making friends with other food bloggers, but money wasn't coming in, I had zero sales, and I
didn’t wanted to be forced to be friends with people I didn’t know
much and frankly didn’t really care about. I just wanted to produce
content and publish it somewhere and go back and produce more
content.
