We are a student-led charity that focuses on removing barriers to development using engineering. Our programmes provide opportunities for young engineers in the UK to learn about technology's role in development. By taking part in our activities, and with the support of the EWB-UK community, our members are making a difference to people's lives around the world.

Posted by Ben Kyriakou, Friday 30th October 2009 @ 4:29pm More than 60 organisations in the UK alone offer some kind of technical support service to the development and relief sector.
Entire organisations are dedicated to the cause of sharing ‘know how’ to help make a difference in projects around the world.
Agencies invest time, money and some very clever people to help improve access to ‘know how’ for people in the field and for people wanting to find their own solutions.
This public event will bring together leading providers of technical knowledge for development and humanitarian relief.
Fair
Organisations are invited to exhibit their services at a stall in the fair and to present its work at drop-in sessions.
Forum
The event will also provide a forum for you to discuss ideas and issues with other providers, which might include topics such as: knowledge management; open licensing; new technologies; collaboration and sharing; and private sector knowledge providers.
The forum is your event – let us know what you would like to discuss and how you want to use it.
Posted by Ben Kyriakou, Friday 13th March 2009 @ 3:53pm As the term draws to a close we're putting on one more big talk for everyone to enjoy! Featuring some enticing speakers plus wine and nibbles, this is one to see!
Recent Bristol graduate Ian Baggs will give a presentation on his 6 months spent in Ecuador designing and helping to install water systems whilst educating the community on the importance of having clean safe water, and how to design their own systems.
Robin Clark from Halcrow, who has been working in the strategic water industry for over 20 years in locations such as South America, Jordan, China, Malawi and Mozambique, will give a talk on some of his past experiences and give an insight into how much we can help communities in developing countries by providing them the means to access clean, safe drinking water.
There will also be a short presentation from the ethical water phenomenon FRANK, who fund sustainable, community run clean water projects.
