Energy: News and Events Energy: News and Events Sat, 21 Apr 2018 09:39:37 +0000 GroupSpaces Energy: News and Events Seminar on European energy system transformation: the rise of energy prosumers and smart technologies <div class="ugc"><p><span style="font-size:12.48px;"><strong>PA Energy coordinator are organised a seminar within the 9<sup>th</sup> Annual Forum of the EUSBSR.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:12.48px;">Energy consumers – both households and businesses – are in the heart of the Energy Union and the EUSBSR PA Energy. The changes in the energy system are steps taken to be closer to the EU set targets after 2020. Smart technologies empower consumers, allowing the development of consumer<strong>demand response</strong> and stimulating the rise of new type of actors referred to as <strong>prosumers</strong> - an entity such as household, cooperative and local enterprise that <strong>produces and consumes</strong> energy (electricity, heating & cooling etc.) in one.</span><br /><span style="font-size:12.48px;"><strong>Smart technologies</strong> have been around for a while now – yet how well did they perform since first introduced a couple years ago? What is the growth potential for them in the nearest future? How they help to actively involve consumers?
