Chukars and friends of the flying disc,
It took almost two years, 3 different proposals, 5 different designs, $4000, and a lot of weed whacking, but the Humboldt River Disc Golf Course is up! Definitely still in its primordial form... lots to do to make it complete...but we are almost there. Anyone up for a round?!
Today I assisted the Elko Parks and Recreation dept. install all 9 baskets for the course. Tee boxes still need to be built and painted and some tree work needs to be done, but we are very close! Thanks to all of our sponsors and volunteers, I couldn't have done it without you all!

If you hear chains rattling in the distance it is not an illusion!
The City of Elko, with fundraising from the Great Basin Chukars and enthusiats of the flying disc, has put in an order for baskets and equipment from the Disc Golf Assoc.
The equipment should arrive within a week or two and soon enough we will be installing the baskets down at the Humboldt River Disc Golf Course!
I will be scheduling a meeting in early April to organize and hopefully decide on a weekend or two that will work for most people to get down to the park and help out.
ALSO
The final design has been developed!

Northeastern Nevada's first disc golf course is well on it's way to implementation.
Preperation of the park and basket/sign/tee-pad installation will occur this spring, 2012, with the course likely playable by June.
