Develop thinking and practice in relation to expansive education and what it means to become a powerful 21st century learner;
Link teachers to universities, providing high-quality training, either face-to-face or using distance learning, that enables them to undertake teacher enquiries in their own setting;
Provide a place for teachers to publish their own enquiries and see new work developed by others;
Connect teachers with one another encouraging local networking, idea sharing and professional development between like-minded professionals.
Why be a member of the Expansive Education Network?
The Centre for Real-World Learning at the University of Winchester has teamed up with seven other universities to create a unique professional learning community dedicated to expansive education.
There are four unique membership benefits:
1. Learnhow to do classroom-based action research from a respected university experienced in working with teachers and in a style to suit you (face to face, train the trainer or distance learning)
2. Join a secure online professional learning community devoted to expansive education and organise professional development with like-minded colleagues either locally or virtually
3.Publish your research and upload film of you in action (if you wish!)
4. Be part of something that really matters.
Why now?
Local authorities are increasingly unable to coordinate professional development or school improvement activity
Teacher enquiry and action research are proven methods of engaging teachers
Schools are increasingly clustering together
How much does it cost?
Because this is a charitable enterprise we are able to keep the costs to a minimum with the typical price of a CPD action research session as little as £21 a head. Click here to see the costs in more detail and enrol as a member.
We very much hope you will want to join this exciting initiative.
