Windows Update can be a bit fussy about how it works. It doesn't have to be out of balance and cause difficulties. In order for the computer to be able to connect to the update servers, the Windows error code 0x80070422 refers to starting the Windows Update service. The message is:
80070422 Self-update error. Software synchronization. Windows Update client could not detect 0 × 80070422
The annoying part of this error is that everything together with the update service can work fine one day and cause errors the next. If you get this error, don't worry. The quick fix allows you to continue installing and downloading updates for Windows 7. You must edit the alternative.
Fixing Windows 7 update error 0x80070422
Click Start and enter Administrator in the search box. Press the Input key and Windows 7 will open the Administrative Tools window. Click on Services.
You should now have a look at the Services window. In the perfect window, find the service called Windows Update. Right-click on Windows Update support and select Properties from the menu.
