The classes themselves are free Contact Details: For further information contact our research co-ordinator, Wendy, on (01865) 226468 or email us at stress.reduction@psych.ox.ac.uk We are seeking volunteers for a clinical trial of a new treatment designed to help alleviate symptoms of depression and prevent recurrences of suicidal thinking. The treatment combines cognitive therapy and meditation and is run in small groups based at the Department of Psychiatry in Oxford. Participants complete three short assessments before and two after the classes. The classes are free and open to people aged 18-65 who speak fluent English. They are suitable for people who are currently suffering from low mood which has been accompanied by suicidal feelings in the past. If you would be interested in finding out more about the trial please do not hesitate to contact us. We can send you further information and arrange a first visit to discuss the study and find out whether the classes are likely to be suitable for you.
