Four years after tearing out the original Dolly stage, The Cellar invested in a brand new stage as well as a sound system and lighting overhaul. General Manager Tim Hopkins said “When we first opened as The Cellar our primary concern was accommodating Djs. However we soon realized that this limited us in our capacity for showcasing the wide variety of music we are interested in.” With the huge success of our live nights such as Trailerpark, Tomahawk, Wendy Carlos and our Electro and Hip Hop nights, Beatabetically Modified and Sketchy, focusing increasingly more on live performancces, a new stage and a crisp powerful sounds system are essential. We are now fully set to bring more quality alternative music to Oxford’s city centre.
