Cambridge People and Planet

People and Planet is a national network of students working together to make their universities greener and more ethical, target corporations who put profit before people and the planet, and educate ourselves on social and environmental issues so that we can campaign as effectively as possible.

Within Cambridge, P and P has protested outside Top Shop, met our local MP, visited a recycling site and loads more: now we're working on co-ordinating with other, similar groups within the university to be as effective as possible. We're completely non-hierarchical, so do come along and get stuck in: together we can change the world!

Ethical Food Night: Is Veganism the Way Forward? (Or Not!)

Posted by Beccy Talmy, Sunday 9th November 2008 @ 6:46pm

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
Are served at Formal Hall.

Before the doors are opened,
Each little bird that sings,
The Head Chef takes their giblets,
And bakes their tiny wings.

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
Are served at Breakfast Hall.

The bacons eating swill yet,
Hash browns are never hot
Fried eggs are nearly chilled, yet
The milk is clearly not.

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
Are served at Lunchtime Hall.

Over leafy salad mountains,
We tell ourselves the lie,
That with water from the fountain,
Weve all we need there to get by.

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
Are served at Supper Hall.

Weve eyes to see the menus,
And lips that we might tell
Id skip the meat if I were you,
As Im not feeling well.

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
Keep well away from Hall.
