Hi WoRd4u family and friends, Hope you are very well and enjoying the heatwave!!! At WoRd4u we've been really busy as usual organising activities, events and working on our community engagement. It's been a while since our last newsletter so I guess we have a lot of catching up to do!!! the summer holidays seem to have come and gone in a flash. We've definately had better in light of the riots and the weather that caused some disruptions to a few of our planned programmes. Leaving that aside, we still made the most of it and kept our doors open all through. We mainly focused on various drama workshops throughout the summer to perfect our acting skills and helped youths develop their leadership and teamworking skills with their very own drama production. Let's not forget that it was also a time where youths waited anxiously for their exam results. A big shout out goes to every youth that worked extremely hard preparing for their exams. Many of our youths have come out with some exceptional A Level and GCSE exam results. We're extremely proud of you all, especially those who have moved on to university and college this year.
In this newsletter we will be sharing more of the exciting things we've been up to. We've also got a lot to celebrate as October marks WoRd4u's 6th Birthday!!! As part of our celebrations we'll be holding a GAMES NIGHT on Wednesday 5th October at our HQ. Details of our BIRTHDAY PARTY will be shared very soon!!! October is also Black History Month so we'll be celebrating all that is great within black cultures and their contributions to our society.
We hope you will be able to join us at our forthcoming events, workshops or just hang out with us at any of our weekly meetings - "WoRd! on Wednesdays" (WoW!).
In the meantime, we hope you enjoy the read!
Best Regards,
Samuel 'passion' Abiola Founder

Hi WoRd4u family and friends,
Hope you've had a great spring break with Easter, the Royal Wedding and May bank holidays. The weather has been quite good too! At WoRd4u as usual we’ve been extremely busy bringing more activities, events and community engagement to our youths. We’ve had some really productive empowerment sessions at ‘WoRd! On Wednesdays’, dealing with issues facing youths. Also, we’ve been increasing the fun with Sam’s very own blindfold games (Caution: only to be played under strict trained supervision and maybe crash helmets next time...lol!).
We had fun designing pancakes on 9th March – Well done Toyin Ogunleye (17) with her winning design and well done to Toju Brown (17), Toyin Ogunleye (17), Zainab Kazeem (18) and Bisi Akindayini (17) for winning the last ‘Games Night’ and enjoying an all expenses paid trip to ‘Afters’ - the ice-cream and desert parlour.
In this quarterly newsletter we’ll be sharing more of the things we’ve been up to and give you the heads up on some other stuff we have planned!
