About this group

WoRd4u is a not-for-profit organisation with a goal to foster a commitment to young people that will promote pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and reassert a sense of hope in the future. We promote positive values through various teaching methods, help young people to realise their gifts and potential, help build the community, and facilitate community organisations. We aim to educate, emulate and empower by providing services and a support system to young men and women.

WoRd4u Youth Initiative is a development programme that is in direct response to the growing number of young people that are either falling through the cracks at school or are already entangled in the juvenile court system. One of our captions is “Let’s Talk About It”, as this expresses our desire to work out together some of the underlying issues that are destroying today’s generation, be it domestic violence, drug abuse, prostitution, child abuse, dysfunctional homes, knife & gun crime, etc.

We currently run weekly sessions 'WoRd! On Wednesdays' (WOW!), from 6pm – 8pm, at White House, 108c Warner Road, Camberwell, London SE5 9HQ. WoRd4u’s weekly sessions comprise of discussion forums, workshops, creative arts, and media presentations based on youth-related issues, life skills and community development. A+C (Advice & Counselling) is also available by appointment on Wednesdays from 4:30pm - 6pm.

All our services are FREE to youths aged 11 to 17 and 18-25.
