Blistering sunshine greeted the seven anglers taking part in the clubs second boat competition of the season. Bessoms, Ruggs, Upton and Cow Moor all produced fish on the day. Sucessful tactics were Diawl bachs, Buzzers and Blobs with fish feeding prodominently on Daphnia.
25 Fish were caught on the day with a Rod average of 3.5.
Results were -
1st- John Glanfield- 7 Fish for 12lb 8oz.
2nd- Maurice Woodward- 7 Fish for 11lb 14oz.
3rd- Michael Ellis- 6 Fish for 9lb 8oz.
4th- Alastair Bardgett- 4 fish for 7lb 3oz.
5th- Bill Hynes-1 fish for 1lb 3oz.
Dave Ridgway- Nil.
Dave Sleep- Nil.
Heaviest Fish- Alastair Bardgett - 2lb 3oz.
There was a good turnout for our first boat competition of the season with eleven anglers taking part. 49 fish were taken on the day with four full bags. Rod average for the day was just over four. Results are as follows:
1st- Chris Curtis- 7 for 12lb 10oz
2nd- Michael Ellis -7 for 12lb 1oz
3rd-John Glanfield-7 for 11lb 15oz
4th-Alastair Bardgett-7 for 11lb 7oz
5th-Maurice Woodward-5 for 7lb 14oz
6th-Russell Spencer-4 for 7lb 12oz
7th-David Ridgway-4 for 6lb 8oz
8th-Bill Hynes- 3for 4lb 14oz
Heaviest fish was caught by Russell Spencer and was a beautiful overwintered fish of 2lb 8oz.
Our first competition of the season took place on saturday 16th april with eight club members and one non-members taking part. Variable wind and bright sunshine made the fishing somewhat challenging and only 17 fish were taken on the day. Club secretary Alastair Bardgett took 1st place with 6 fish for 10lb 1oz, second went to John Glanfield with 4 for 6lb 7oz and Michael Ellis took third with 4 for 5lb 12oz. John Glanfield also took heaviest fish of the day
