In partnership with the Bath Film Festival, WA Events has procured a premiere screening of an important new documentary film on the topical subject of social housing provision.
"For some people, a housing crisis means not getting planning permission for a loft conversion. For others it means, quite simply, losing their home. Dispossession: The Great Social Housing Swindle is a feature documentary directed by Paul Sng (Sleaford Mods – Invisible Britain) and narrated by Maxine Peake, exploring the catastrophic failures that have led to a chronic shortage of social housing in the UK."
The film will be shown in the Widcombe Social Club on Friday 7th July at 8pm. Tickets are priced at £7 (£6 concessions). We are expecting a capacity audience, so if you would like to attend we encourage you to buy your tickets now.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the film's director, and we are inviting stakeholders from all parts of our community to attend. This event represents a unique opportunity to learn more about how developments in social housing provision are affecting our country generally and our city in particular.
