Update to WSC Calendar: 13th September TTT - an event will still be held!
While this date was planned to be the Hope Gibbons TTT event in Masterton, the organising Club had to cancel due to numbers exceeeding the requirements under Covid-19 rules.
Wgtn Schools Cycling has the advantage of lower numbers, so that we can still run our own events. We will now have a third TTT event on the Wainuiomata Coast Road on the above date.
Details are on the Events page here: http://groupspaces.com/WellingtonSchoolsCycling/item/1265112
Covid-19 update from Cycling NZ Schools:
In response to the latest Covid-19 update, Cycling NZ Schools are working with the Event Organisers and School Sport NZ on the continuation of the 2020 Calendar. The Cycling NZ Schools executive are meeting on Monday 7th September and further updates will be provided on Tuesday 8th September.
This meeting will be to discuss the upcoming National Schools events. Currently there are low entries nationally, probably due to everyone holding off and waiting for School Sport NZ announcements.

Wainuiomata Hill Climb
It was excellent weather for the inaugural Hill Climb up the Wainuiomata Hill on the 2nd August.
The first ever records were set for schools cycling and I believe some strava records were also made on the day. It's well done and congratulations to the younger riders for making the effort to climb such a large hill - everyone made it to the top! Some stats show the hill averages 10.3%, with the steepest part at 16%!
Below you will be able to see the new records set for agegroups. The idea is to go out and try to beat your own times over the coming year and come back next year to claim your personal best time and maybe a new record.
This coming Sunday is the 2nd Teams Time trial - 16th August
Once again, come on out and set a Personal Best (PB) or try to beat your Individual, 2up or full-team PB.
Younger riders can have an escort throughout their ride.
Please enter by emailing Gary by Friday, stating your Name, Agegroup, Team (if any) and School.

Final Teams Time Trial - 13th September
The event will only be a 4up teams event (Timed on the 3rd rider across the line, so technically 3 riders can be a team). A composite team is allowed providing you're in the same agegroup. Riders can ride up an agegroup to make a team of 4. Agegroups are Year 7-8, U16 and U20. Please start asking around to try and make up a team.

Welcome back to Term 3 of Schools Cycling.
Over the school holidays there was the Agegroup Club Road Champs. This is a non-schools event for riders representing their Clubs. Wellington had 7 riders representing the PNP Cycling Club with two riders bringing home 3 medals in total. This has been one of Wellingtons best Road Champs in many years and shows the extreme work ethic our riders go to, to perform at such a high level. Well done to Camden Feint, Silver medal in the U19 Individual Time Trial and Millie Donald, also Silver in the U15 ITT, plus a Bronze Medal in the U15 Road Race. Both riders go to schools on the Kapiti Coast.
Wgtn Schools Hill Climb Champs - Gracefield, Lower Hutt
Sunday, 2nd August 2020 at 9am - 10:30am Note: Gracefield Rd can be busy - it is recommended to bring wind-trainers or rollers to warm-up on, otherwise riding in the Southern part of Gracfield Rd is advised (beyond the round-about, away from main route to Wainuomata).
