Omar Rodriguez Diaz

  Omar studied at the Central High School of Visual Arts in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where he was born and raised. In 2002 he earned his Bachelor's Degree from Pratt Art Institute in Brooklyn, New York, for film and animation. Shortly after, he earned his master's degree in experimental animation at California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, CA (CalArts). Omar studied singing with Gwen Arment in N.Y. and with the Latin Jazz Ensemble of California Institute of the Arts. He has trained in many dance forms through his travels within the United States, Cuba and Puerto Rico; with LA based companies and artists: CONTRA-TIEMPO Co., Tropidanza, Haseen Dance Co. and Kimberly Mullen. His main focuses have been salsa, Afro Cuban, samba, flamenco, modern and presently ballet and singing with 3-19 Dance Art. Omar resides in Los Angeles, CA.
