Interview with Napoleon

1. How did you get involved in theater? When did you know you wanted to become an actor?

I got involved with theatre in high school but before then did Polynesian dances with my family at weddings, summer camps, and Christmas parties.  I knew I wanted to become an actor at 15 years old when I got cast in the musical ensemble of GREASE.

2. What kind of theater inspires you?

Theatre imitates life.  So if a story is compelling and must be told so that people can have a feeling and an experience—that’s the best theatre that can inspire anyone… not just me but more importantly, the audience.

3. Who/What has been your biggest inspiration to you as an actort?

My biggest inspiration to me as an actor is my family—Mom, Dad, and brother, Ned.  They make me want to become the best at everything I do.  I am a story-teller and I’ve learned from the best and it comes from the reciprocal love that my family and I have for one another.

4. What's your role in Hollywood In the Hood? Why did you want to work on this show?

I play Quick in HITH. I wanted to be a part of this play because it sounded fun & innovative with the performance idea of being ‘on foot’.  And I could say I did a play in Watts and my friends would be like ‘What?! Isn’t that in the hood?!’

5. In one word, what am I most excited about the show?
