This event is in the past.
Join VC-CWA for a friendly lunch, camaraderie, and a chance to learn something new and interesting about risk management and farm labor from Steven Gama, a great supporter of Ventura County agricultural issues.
Here is a note from Steve: My father, in 1959 after graduating from Loyola Medical School and completing his residency with Los Angeles County Hospital, set up his practice in the Colonia on Cooper Road. As a result, his patients were primarily farm workers and he was in a position to provide practical advice to farmers to reduce injury rates and subsequent workers compensation claims / costs. Early on my father and many others pegged the short handled hoe as a major contributor in the epidemic of back injuries among field workers. It can be said that my start in the Risk Management field was started through my relation with my Dad. Since then I have had 30 years experience in Risk Management. I will be telling a story that is both harrowing and inspiring! If you have the time, I would love for you to attend.
Hope you can join us!
