There's always something fun going on with Ventura County CWA!
September's meeting won't look much like sitting in a normal meeting...
At 2:30, we will meet at the Santa Paula Salsa Company (820 E. Railroad Ave., SP) for a tour, shopping, maybe even some tasting. They have their own greenhouses growing some of the hottest peppers in the world, and use hydroponics. They produce a wide variety of salsas, sauces, jams, seasonings, and the world's hottest pickle spears.
Continuing with our tasty meeting theme, we will wander over to the Santa Paula Agriculture Museum (926 Railroad Ave., SP) to see their "At the Table: The Business of Food and Community" exhibit which features iconic Ventura County restaurants from days gone by, reviews current trends toward locally-sourced foods, takes a historical look at bakeries and includes food-themed art by local artists.
We will complete our circle with a little Happy Hour at the historic Glen Tavern Inn (134 N. Mill St., SP). There, CWA will provide hors d'oeuvres for our group, but you will be responsible for purchase of your choice of beverage...
We hope you can join us!
And yes, please do RSVP so we can help our hosts be ready for a group of our size. Thank you!
