This event is in the past.
Before being recognized as the major holiday it has now become, Fathers’ Day had several starts and stops… 1908, 1910, 1911, 1912, 1915, 1938, 1957… Then, in 1966, President Lyndon B. Johnson issued the first presidential proclamation honoring fathers, designating the third Sunday in June as Father's Day. Six years later, the day was made a permanent national holiday when President Richard Nixon signed it into law in 1972.
To all our fathers, stepfathers, foster fathers, adoptive fathers, grandfathers, fathers-in-law, and special men who fill the role of father…
Happy Fathers’ Day!
And thank you for all you do!
