Finding Images
When working with people on their sketchnoting skills as well as when sketchnoting myself, I noticed an interesting problem that creeps up: Once you got the hang of basic sketching and are ok with sketching most simple objects (like phones, apples, foxes, computers, money, ...), there comes a time when you probably want to tackle visualising more abstract and complex concepts (economy, health, freedom, experience, ...). This is when sketching moves from being a merely technical challenge to being a creative challenge that involves imagination, communication and lateral thinking.
At this Sketch Club session, I'd like to propose some ideas and exercises that might help explore the process of finding images and help spark visual creativity. They will probably be a bit experimental, so come with an open mind and a willingness to play.
