The UW Student Animal Legal Defense Fund is dedicated to both protecting the welfare of animals through the legal system and providing a forum of education for law students, lawyers, judges, law enforcement officials, and the community. SALDF educates the legal community about legal and social issues relating to animals, such as animal ownership, factory farming, and domestic violence.

I know it's finals time and things are crazy, but if you are interested, there is a Madison Park Commission meeting this Wednesday. On the agenda will be discussion and possible recommendation regarding a "goose management plan" for the City of Madison. The City has been considering using lethal means to remove geese from Warner Park. If you'd like to be heard on this issue, the meeting is at Warner Park at 6:30 pm this Wednesday, May 11.
This year, the U.S. Government has been rounding up federally protected wild horses in Nevada, chasing them from their habitat to provide more land for cattle ranchers. Horses have died and become extremely ill from the chases pushing them off this land. Despite this, the roundups are to continue for several months.
