The ODC is the epicenter of UVic's outdoors community. We are a Vikes Rec club and have history going back to the university's formation in 1963. We are a collection of people who just want to get outdoors, and welcome you whether you are looking for your first hike, or are planning a new route up Mt Colonel Foster.
We are a student governed democratic organization that meets regularly to socialize, organize expeditions, and of course, get outdoors. As a Vikes Rec Club, we are open to all who pay Vikes Rec dues, and membership in the club costs a mere $15. Membership comes with access to club gear, subsidized trips and training, and a network of great people to plan your next outing with. Most trips are member organized, with the club organizing the odd trip and social gathering.
We meet regularly at Petch Fountain in the UVic Quad at 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays. This is an informal gathering to plan trips and socialize.
HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER: fill out a waiver and take it to the Ian Stewart Complex or the McKinnon Gym. There you can pay the 15$ membership fee to vikes rec. Take your receipt and filled waiver to any ODC meeting to get a member card.
