Hey all,
Recently the Students' Union finished the second set of Assemblies. As you may know, these assemblies are the first point of action for students to submit ideas to become Union policy.
At Assemblies, a random representative juror panel of students is created to vote on ideas submitted. If the idea doesn't pass by 75% or more, the Union believes that a decision cannot be reached that would represent the voices of all students. So, an all student online vote is called for to consider the opinions of every student.
Currently there are two ideas to be voted on by students:
1. Should the Students’ Union sell Coca-Cola?
2. The Students Union has 2 positions for each liberation group of black minority ethnic, LGBT & disabled students. Should one of each of these positions be reserved for women only?
For more information from both the 'Yes' and the 'No' campaigns for each ballot item please check out this website: http://umsu.manchester.ac.uk/referenda. Also, there will be links for more information on the ballot for each item.
Voting is open now and will run until 12-noon on the 8th of June. I encourage you to cast your vote and get your voice heard.
To vote, login your http://My.Manchester.ac.uk (Portal) account and click on 'The Union' tab to cast your vote in the 2012 Student Referenda!
Support democracy and your right to vote on the direction of your Union!

Hi All,
Society re-registration packs are now available to collect from the Student Activities Office. We have attached the forms to this email if you prefer to download and print them yourself. Included is the form for requesting a stall at the Student Welcome Fair in September. The deadline for the return of all the forms is Friday, 8th June.
Please note if you choose to download the forms, you will still need to collect a bank account change of signatories form from the Activities Office.
Regards
Student Activities.
