The UCLU AMSA is a society for seekers of truth. The main objectives of this society are:
To hold events at UCL that allow students who are not Ahmadi Muslims to understand Islam as we understand it - as a peaceful spiritual path that allows a human being to break the shackles of a hedonistic, material and ultimately meaningless life and to ascend towards internal and external peacefulness and a real relationship with God. Our understanding of religion is different from others in that we see no room for contradiction between religion and science and thus we hope that our events will challenge those who believe they have made up their minds on spiritual matters. If you want to be challenged or are a seeker after truth, this is the society to join.
This society has also been created to foster inter-faith dialogue, understanding and tolerance between people of different religions/beliefs/persuasions.
Finally this society has been set up to provide a mechanism by which the welfare of Ahmadi Muslim students can be overseen. All Ahmadi brothers and sisters are encouraged to join, attend events and bring their friends.
Throughout each year we hold talks, question and answer sessions and discussions on topics as diverse as: the existence of God/contradictions between science and religion, life after death, Jesus' life after the Crucifixion, Islam and Terrorism, the teachings of Islam on Women, Islam and world peace. We also organise charity events and local trips.
