Loose Muse

Tuesday, 13th March 2012 at 8pm

Location: Poetry Cafe, 22 Betterton Street, London WC2 (closest tube = Covent Garden)

This event is in the past.

Hi gang,
Now that the first resounding shouts of approval for the first Loose Muse Anthology have died down a little, I can relax into the warmth and wonder of regular Loose Muse events, particularly given that I felt the taste of Spring in the air at the weekend…which means that it must be my birthday soon.  Yes…another milestone celebration on the 18th March, only four days after the March Loose Muse, which promises to be even more fabulous than usual, so come along and check it out.…..
LOOSE MUSE takes place every second Wednesday of the month, at the Poetry Cafe, 22 Betterton Street, London WC2 (closest tube = Covent Garden), this month on Wednesday 14th MARCH.  This is London’s only regular event for women writers of all genres, with a generous open mike sharing session plus two featured writers each month. The night starts at 8.00 p.m. - £5.00/£3.00 concs.  Plus there are plenty of chances for you to come read your own work in the open mic readings from the floor
First of all we have the gloriously irreverent Aussie poet and writer Cath Drake bringing us her own brand of wit, inspiration and wry humor, and making even the ordinary an extraordinary experience.  Sharing the bill, with a short play, is multi-talented playwright, poet and writer Claire Booker, who will be staging one her little gems with Loose Muse, and then telling us where she finds the inspiration for her award-winning work.
And we also have three (yes three!) Special Guests – from the US, poets Amanda Johnson and Adrienne Odasso, and winging in from Greece actor/writer Margaret Eddershaw, all sharing a bit of their magic with us too.   A truly fabulous night of words….
So come share the passion, share the joy,
Agnes Meadows
Loose Muse Host, Coordinator and fellow poet/writer

Claire Booker’s stage plays have been produced internationally, and include monologues, one act and full length plays, hard-hitting dramas, comedies and adaptations. An multi award-winner, Claire’s radio play The Devil and Stepashka was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 and nominated for a Writer’s Guild MacAllan Award (Best Original Radio Play).  Her poetry has been published in a number of magazines and anthologies, and she regularly performs on London’s poetry circuit.  Claire is working on her first collection of poetry.
