You’re getting notification of October’s Loose Muse early this month because I’m going on a real adventure to Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia at the crack of dawn tomorrow, and won’t be back until early October, so wanted to make sure you had all the details of the next fantastic event in plenty of time.  I’m bound to see lots of inspirational sights, but I know there’ll be even more talent for me and all of us to enjoy right here next month, so come along and be both stirred and shaken at

Alice Jolly – confirmed – – 07595-312-580
Novelist, short stories, playwright
Alice Jolly’s 2015 memoir ‘Dead Babies and Seaside Towns’ won the Pen/Ackerley Award, and one of her short stories won the 2014 V. S. Pritchett Memorial Prize, awarded by The Royal Society of Literature.  She has also published two novels with Simon and Schuster and four of her plays have been produced by the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham.   She teaches creative writing at Oxford University and will soon be publishing her third novel ‘Between the Regions of Kindness’ with Unbound.      
Claire Crowther has published four pamphlets and three full collections of poetry. The first, Stretch of Closures, was shortlisted for the Aldeburgh Best First Prize. Her poems are widely available in such journals as London Review of Books, Times Literary Supplement,Poetry Review and her reviews in Poetry London, Magma, Poetry Wales. Her new pamphlet, Bare George (Shearsman), written after a year-long residency at the Royal Mint Museum, will be launched at Loose Muse.
Plus….Loose Muse Winchester’ - Monday 10th October @ the Discovery Centre, Jewry Street, Winchester, Hants SO23 8SB – 7.30-9.30 p.m. - £5.00 on the door. Ably hosted as always by Sue Wrinch
Plus there will the usual open mic to share your work at both these events.
