TAPRA History and Historiography Group Interim Event
Tuesday June 19th 2012
Garrick Club (10am-12.30pm)
Bedford square (2pm-5pm)

The History and Historiography working group will be holding an interim
event on Tuesday, June 19th. As with all TaPRA events this event is open to TaPRA members only. Whilst the working group is happy to encourage
attendance by individuals who are not part of TaPRA, it will be necessary
to levy a small membership fee at the event.

Numbers for this event will be limited so RSVP asap: to Gilli
Bush-Bailey gilli.bush-bailey@rhul.ac.uk and Kate Dorney

We will meet at 10am at the Garrick Club where we will be given a guided
tour in small groups of the club's extraordinary art collection.
Our guides and hosts are Professor David Mayer (Manchester & Garrick
Club member) and Marcus Risdell (Garrick Librarian).  We will also have the opportunity to view the Garrick's recent acquisition of the Zoffanys commissioned by David Garrick.

There will be discussion and questions over coffee but lunch will not be provided.
There are however plenty of places to eat or to takeaway around Bedford Square
before the second half of the meeting

At 2pm we will meet again at RHUL's building at 11, Bedford Square where
we will be joined by Professor SImon SHepherd to discuss potential directions
and developments for the working group's sessions on Economies of Theatre at TAPRA 2012 at Kent in September. We will be circulating some readings suggested by Simon in due course. There will also be the opportunity for speakers who have
had their papers accepted to raise any particular questions, issues or
provocations, arising from their proposed papers.
