*For 2018 we have introduced a novice category which is open to anyone over the age of 15 (although any Youth category entrants will be racing at a separate time). Both novice categories are a 200m pool swim (any stroke, so yes, you can do breaststroke!) followed by a short (2.75km) run off road in the grounds of the school.
We want to attract those who fancy having a go for the first time at an aquathlon - no bikes to worry about, no worrying about cleats or helmets, you swim and then pop on trainers and a t-shirt and off you go.
The Aquathlon swim start times will be allocated based on estimated swim time in each age category. We will have exclusive use of the pool and therefore with two swimmers in each lane we will be able to have a competitive race.
The waves will start with tristar start working through the age groups to Seniors at the end. First wave start from 1330hrs.
You will need to register earlier on the day, please allow time to do so and read the detailed race information pack for details of registration and timings for the same.
At the start of the first wave, transition will be live and no further entry by any competitor not racing will be permitted.
Ensure you are ready and waiting on the pool side 10mins before your race start time. (Start times will be provided in the detailed race pack).
A mandatory race briefing will be given in the school sports hall prior to the start.
Prizes will be given for the first male and female winner of each age group, (more if numbers, funding and charitable contributions allow). Age is calculated according to British Triathlon rules as your age on 31st December 2018.
We will also be awarding 'spot prizes' - maybe 8th female finisher, or fastest novice runner - we haven't decided on the categories yet, but there will be prizes available!
Provisional results will be posted at race HQ on the day, and 15 minutes before the prize-giving (to allow competitors the opportunity to check their result before the prize presentation). Full results will be available on the race website (link to come) within 2 days of the event.
Signatures and entry are an acceptance that any photos taken can be used in any published information after the event e.g results or news reports. Please speak to registration staff if you do not agree to this.
Race Cancellation Policy
If for reasons that are outside the control of the organisers, dictates that either the race Director of the TE official has to cancel the event, we will be unable to provide a refund of the race entrioes of fees associated with the same due to costs being incurred well in advance of the event.
Stratford Upon Avon Triathlon Club, is part of Stratford Athletics Club. We have grown from being a small section of the club to now having a significant number of junior and senior members that are learning about, training and competing in all forms of multi sport. We have regular training events throughout the week, with something always happening. With strong links with the local Stratford Sharks Triathlon Section of the swimming club, we work together to have a network of activity for the juniors into triathlon in South Warwickshire.
