Jack won the toss and elected to bat on a very dry pitch at " Three Hills " on Wednesday.
Folkestone had a very young team out - we all know they have been struggling because the cream of their team joined us at the start of the season !
So the plan was to keep Nick Ward at bay, which Jack and Euan did very successfully until the latter played over the top of a straight one and was out in the 5th over for a well struck 16 with the total on a healthy 43. Jack continued to time and place the ball to all parts and retired for the 5th time in 6 innings and the middle order all chipped in to keep up the momentum and we finished on a healthy 145 for 6 after 20 overs. Barney had his best knock of the season so far, putting the bad ball away quite nicely for a very good 22 - and poor Alex suffered his second dodgy LBW decision which was much worse than Chris Rodgers' in the Lords Test match !
Nick was also the danger man with the bat, but Jack and Felicity bowled their opening overs accurately - and then Euen, who bowled with pace ( if a little wayward ! ), forced Nick to get a top edge, when trying to force the scoring, which was caught comfortably by Barney at deep fine leg !
Barney, George and Euan picked up a wicket a piece in the middle overs - and most of the bowling was accurate enough to prevent a very inexperienced Folkestone side from scoring freely. Although, out of their total of 61 for 7, 41 were extras - and these were not down to Nat who once again kept wicket very tidily, taking one very good caught behind !!
Felicity bowled the last over, which turned out to be a very special one indeed. 3 wickets in her last 4 balls were just reward for some terrific swing bowling - and Felicity was the pick of the bowlers by some margin. Very well done indeed !!
