Another win, quite convincing too.
The guys had an outstanding win against the Elham 5, who battled but it was always going to be difficult.
Electing to bowl first, the Sibton boys took regularl wickets, with all bowling well and keeping the extras down (well I say down, less than they have been in previous weeks) Bish & Miles kept it tight as ever, and thanks to some good catching from Ben F and Miles, run outs from Owen & Miles, Elham quickly found themselves blocking a few to use up the overs. They did well too picking up ones every ball for a while. Unfortunately in the last over Elham were all out for 55.
In reply, and a new opening partnership, the Sibton guys got off to a nervy start but became more confident as Elhams total was passed in the 7th over and Owen and Bishan both found themselves retiring on 26 and 28 respectively. Ben B and Ben F carried on and were there at the end as Sibton finished on 126 off their 12 overs for 0 wickets!!
An excellent win, but also hard on Elham.
A special mention to the other lads in the team who didn't get opportunities this time around. Cricket can be like that sometimes when you're sat there with your pads on all day watching someone else score runs, or your itching to bowl but don't get the nod. You are very much part of the team boys, it's good you show you want to be involved and the team(s) wouldn't be the same without you. Keep going, keep trying, and you will get your opportunities - and grab it when it comes around.
No game for a few weeks, the final game being Sunday 25th March 10am, at PV School - a win would ensure a potential joint top or even an outright league win (It could come down to run rate even) but the main thing is to enjoy it, win or lose.
