Phew, a tight one resulting in a narrow win.
Bowling first the Sibton lads bowled well enough, but there were still 46 extras (no balls & wides) out of Folkestone's score of 75.
Bishan bowled very well with his out swingers and Miles very neat & tidy. The ground fielding was good, it's just those extras.
In reply Sibton got off to a decent start well up on the run rate, but Bish pulled one square, not quite catching hold of it, was caught. Ben Benchley and Miles Clayton batted well enough but missed out a little in the middle overs as walls weren't hit and runs weren't possible. The Folkestone lads to be fair bowled and fielded very well. When the last over came round Sibton need 11 to win, after a single then a run out for one run, Miles cracked a 4 and needing 4 to win off 2 balls, he cracks a six and its all over and he scores 26 leaving the next batsmen, Owen to face the last ball.
Like I say, a narrow victory, but a victory all the same.
Cut out the extras as much as possible, and hit the walls/run in the middle overs and the guys will do very well.
The penultimate game next week, before a two week break, against Elham. The guys should be seeking a better game after the mauling received from Elham last time, but to also stand a chance of winning the league having won 3 games out of 4 so far.
