So half way, and the Lordswoods boys arrive.
It was dark, overcast, slightly humid.
Sibton win the toss and decide to field.
A brilliant start, as Lordswood are reeling at 9 for 4 as Newman rips through them with a brilliant spell picking up 2, an injured Rowe picks up one bowling under PAR, and a run out by Bish.
Still grinding away Lordswood were still in danger at 45 for 7, as Newman took another 2 wickets, but Lockhart and Greenwood were both put down with regulation catches.
An expensive mistake as Lockhart pushed on to 50 and with Dan Masters on 25, pushed the score up to 112 before the next wicket.
Another straight forward catch was put down as Lordwood pushed on and Lockhart eventually was dismissed for a good 93, as Newman picked up his well deserved 5 wicket after a really good bowling spell, and AA picked up 2 wickets as Lordswood finished on an under PAR but respectable 195, on what was a good batting pitch.
In reply Bish and AA got off to a good start, cruising as 40 for 0 after 8 overs.
The wheels well and truly came off as the Sibton batters tumbled one after the other as only Bish & AA got in to double figures and Sibton crumbled to a poor 89 all out, as Kev Masters picked up 5 wickets, and the other Lordwswood bowlers bowling well with aggresion and some hostile bowling, all within 25 overs!!
Very very disappointing from Sibton, but has been a feature of the batting a lot of the season, with 6 people getting bowled in the match which tells its own story.
Next week the exciting stuff starts with 50 over win/lose cricket, power plays etc.
Blackheath visit Sibton, looking for revenge no doubt after they were one of Sibton's 2 victories in the first half of the season.
Meanwhile the 2's visited Hythe. A good decent betting display saw Hythe reach 215 as Sean Carey picked up 3 wickets and Tugboat 2.
In reply Sibton fell just short as they clung on for a draw at 193 for 9, with only Miersy pushing on with a good 67, a few others getting starts.
The 2's up & down season continues.
