On a wet day, Sibton made the effort and dried everything as best as poss. (Including using the newly aquired BowDry which was excellent) So it was a late start 2.15 (!!) on reduced overs, 35.
A great start saw Bromley rocking at 56 for 7, however good hitting by Ricaldo Anderson and steady play from Barbosa steered Bromley to 155 all out in the 35 over. A little chaotic by the Sibton bowlers/fielders in the middle, that should have made sure Bromley got no more than 100.
Like last season the Sibton batters got to the same sort of start as they have all season, but unlike 2010 it's been very poor. Like Bromley at 77 for 7 could the lower order batters do it! In short - No. Avoiding another defeat only Bish made runs with 53 and Knighty finished on a well played 27 not out as the rest crumbled.
Still a draw rather than a loss, and 2 points less if it had been called off, but we'd still rather of played than do the easy thing and just call the game off. Bromley weren't too happy at how it ended, but up until the 9th wicket we were still going for it.
The 2's travelled to Harvel, got called off after 10 overs, and still had a bit of argy bargy with Harvel.
Sunday saw a poor turn out in the EKL V Margate, as Bej's army were halted. With only 9 players, Sibton started Ok but crumpled to 75 all out after Hickers got 41. In reply the visitors lost 4 wickets but looked comfortable. Margate bowled very well and caught well, so fair play to them.
The development team, with a full compliment of players, unfortunately also lost at Elham. Then forgot to pay the tea money. Naughty naughty, best this gets sorted ASAP!!!
