Hmmm, well it was a simple story really.
After another lively trip up to Bickley in the Chucklebus, Sibton won the toss & elected to bat on a decent looking wicket.
Quickly staring down the barrel at 92 for 8, it wasn't looking good. However, thanks to bats 9, 10 & 11, some poor fielding and not so good bowling, Sibton scrambled to 151 in the 49 th over, mainly thanks to Meersies couragous 31 red, with only Bish 21 and Payno 25 making the 20's. This was a top effort from the lower order, but where was everyone else?
Anyway, despite Newman taking the new ball and getting a wicket with his 4th ball, that's basically where it ended as the stylish Clinton skillfully guided Bickley to a win, with 64 not out after Phil Browning biffed his way to 66 before falling to Meersie, in the 28th over.
Very disappoinitng in all - A good trip home stopping off at the Ramblers on the way, and lots of cricket whys & wherefores on the journey back.
Meanwhile at home news of the 2's were that they were struggling, as Lodgey 24, Joey 20 & power hitting Jordan A-L 22 helped the score along whilst Frankie Gush top scored with 32 batting at 9, as the 2nd team limped like the 1st team to 150 all out in the 46th over.
In reply St Lawrence were contained by spin twins Tugboat 4 fer and Miersy 3 fer, as they eventually crumpled to 137 all out in the 44th over as Muwwell & Sean Carey finished them up.
A great win for the 2's keeping there and there abouts in their league.
