After two years of conferences, workshops and joint operations the DARIF project is fast approaching to its end.
The Final Conference will be held 12-13 May 2015 in Budapest, in the Ministry of Interior of Hungary.
Three-member delegations from each of the ten member states are going to participate in the event. In addition to this, eight international organizations are also going to take part in the Final Conference.
A lot has been accomplished during the past two years in the field of international law enforcement cooperation on the Danube in the framework of the DARIF and it is high time to review the results and to present them as the project publication is also ready to be published in the Final Conference.
Also during the Final Conference future recommendations will be adopted by the participants aiming to express the common desire for future development of international law enforcement cooperation. Regarding the common will to build a wide and comprehensive cooperation among the countries in the region, experts from all the member states and partner organizations of the DARIF contributed to the publication with professional comments and feedbacks.
Representatives of the PACs from Bulgaria and Bavaria participated in the START - Danube Region Project Fund workshop. The event took place on 11 July 2014 in Vienna and was organized and hosted by PA 10 “Institutional Capacity” and EuroVienna.
The objective of START is to “kick-start project development in the Danube Region and to facilitate the financing of transnational projects”.
START is to help organisations and institutions in the Danube Region to develop and implement their project ideas. The provided support is in the form of Seed Money, meaning that beneficiaries receive an early pre-financing for their projects. Support is mainly addressed for small organisations with limited resources to implement their projects.
START will run until 2016 and two calls for projects will be organised. The first call will be launched on 18 July 2014.
