2:00 – 5:00 Workshop: “17 Problems and 17 Solutions: A Permaculture Approach to Solving the 17 Problems of Living.” A brief presentation by Brenda Carr (SoL Trustee) of Ralph Borsodi’s 17 problems of living with an exploration of how ethics and principles of permaculture seek to solve these problems to create a sustainable future.

- Our meals this weekend will be potluck. Please bring several potluck dishes to share. There will be folks attending who are vegan, vegetarian or have other special food needs, so please label your dishes. On Sunday we will do a picnic at the Itsodi land so we will need some appropriate dishes for that.
Directions to Common Ground Community
From the north: Take the first Lexington exit from I-81 and turn right onto Rt. 11 South and go about 3 miles towards Lexington. After you cross the Maury River Bridge get in the left hand lane and take the Rt. 11 bypass. Stay on the Bypass until it ends at a stoplight (on the right corner is a motel).
GO STRAIGHT through the stoplight (noting your mileage). You
will find the highway is now called Hyw. 251 (Thornhill Road and
name will change to Collierstown Rd).
IF YOU HAVE A TRIP METER ODOMETER SET IT TO ZERO AT THIS TRAFFIC
LIGHT TO MORE EASILY FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS
Follow Hyw. 251 - through all its winds and turns-
Approximate mileage from the traffic light:
2.5 miles on right you'll see Modine Corporation
3 251 curves to left - stay on it
5.5 pass over bridge
5.7 251 turns right, you GO STRAIGHT onto Hyw. 677,
called Kyger's Hill.
Go over ridge, at base of hill, Hyw changes name and no. -
KEEP GOING STRAIGHT, onto Hyw 612, Blue grass
Trail. (as of 2010, the road sign is twisted the wrong way)
9 A "Y" with a metal bridge at left - stay right on
Blue grass Trail.
You'll pass Palmer Community Center - white frame
building on right.
10.5 Another "Y", Stay left on Blue Grass Trail.
(Moore's Creek Road will be to you right)
11.3 You'll pass Ashland Trout Pond on your Left
12 miles The road "Ts" at dairy farm with blue silos, TURN
LEFT onto Spring Branch Road (Hwy 662). Follow Spring Branch
about two miles to the first right at the tope of a hill and TURN RIGHT onto Snakefoot Lane (Hwy 661).
Take Snakefoot Lane about a mile and a half and look for the SOL sign on the LEFT which is the driveway to the Learning Center where the SOL meetings will be.
