The Stanford Association for Multi-disciplinary Medicine and Science (SAMMS) is a program created by graduate students and hosted by the Molecular Therapeutics program that is designed to facilitate interdisciplinary discussion and collaboration in an informal environment centered on graduate students, post-docs, and clinical interns.
SAMMS offers the following opportunities:
- Discussion-centered panels on broad topics applicable to a diverse audience. Panel speakers represent a variety of disciplines, and present a point of view, research focus, or solution to a problem from their discipline’s standpoint
- A reagent sharing network
- Social networking events
- Discussion-based seminars led by members of SAMMS providing insight into their discipline for a more general scientific audience
