DAL/Communications:

Principle Area of Responsibility:
Primarily responsible for communications to the membership, mailing list
maintenance, and postal issues.

Communications: Primarily responsible for maintaining the mailing list. We
all can have a part in the general upkeep such as passing on who`s addresses
changed, who`s e-mail needs updating and so on, but it`s this DAL that hold
the responsibility to keep the list as current as possible. One thing this
DAL has done inthe past, for example, is: when an e-mail for an AD member
returns undeliverable, the DAL can make use of resources such as the Global
Listing and other e-mail contacts to help locate the member and make sure
they are getting the most for their membership

Submit an article for each edition of the SAFPA newsletter,

DAL/Membership:

Principle Area of Responsibility:
Primarily responsible for new membership and membership related issues.

Membership: Primarily responsible for improving our membership and
responding to member questions. By improving, I mean thinking of ways to
grow our membership. Some folks like to get out there and meet new people
and help bring them into the group. The Membership Director is such a
person, but also brings new idea to the table for things to make our members
happier. Whether it`s just sending out a simple mailer or helping
coordinate a membership drive, any ideas that others have for making the
membership a better place generally go through this DAL.

Essential Functions:

Serve as a liaison between the Board of Directors and the
constituency
Submit an article for each edition of the SAFPA newsletter,
highlighting activities
Serve and/or chair ad hoc committees as assigned
Assist fellow officers as needed

Ability to multi-task and complete projects on time

DAL/Activities:

Principle Area of Responsibility:
Primarily responsible for helping plan CME activities and fund raising
activities.

Activities: Every year, we hold a conference. It is generally the CME
Chair`s responsibility to plan and coordinate the events, but this DAL is
the oversight for that. This is an important position because it`s this DAL
that helps plan the CME for not only the coming year, but also the coming
years. some things, like Hotel space, require more than a year advance
planning. This DAL position (like the others) is a 2 year job enabling the
DAL to reach out past this year and help plan for the future. Also, being
the CME Chair is no picnic. It generally should be a 2-man show just
because one person can`t be everywhere and these things take a lot of
planning. This DAL also works with the Newsletter Chair and other
organizations to make sure the CME is properly publicized.

Essential Functions:

Serve as a liaison between the Board of Directors and the
constituency
Submit an article for each edition of the SAFPA newsletter,
highlighting activities
Serve and/or chair ad hoc committees as assigned
Assist fellow officers as needed
Serve as an information resource and membership recruitment liaison

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Must be a member in good standing of SAFPA and AAPA
Previous Board of Directors experience, suggested
Excellent communication, leadership, and diplomacy skills
Ability to multi-task and complete projects on time

HOD:

SAFPA Representative to the AAPA House of Delegates. Responsible for
keeping current in issues and affairs which affect SAFPA members and voting
for those issues in the annual HOD sessions. Required to be an AAPA member.
