Halcyons - Youth Section

Do you have children or grandchildren who would like to learn more about our local wildlife and become involved in the work of the River Waveney Trust?

As reported at the end of last year, we were fortunate enough to secure Lottery Award funding to set up a Youth section of the group, which will be known as Halcyons. The grant has also provided funding for educational equipment and improvement to the facilities and safety at the River Waveney Study Centre in Earsham.

The Halcyon groups were officially launched on the morning of Saturday 21st February when we held an Open Morning, for parents/grandparents and children, at the River Waveney Study Centre.

There are two sections to the group: Halcyon Streamlets (aged 5-11 years) and Halcyons (aged 11-18 years)

Membership of the group will entitle the children to a free T-shirt and a Lanyard to wear, along with their membership card.
Also, membership of Halcyons will enable children to be invited along to events throughout the year, based primarily at the Study Centre, during school holidays.

Read a report of our first "Learn to Fish" event which was held during the Easter holiday period.  See attachment below.

Also see latest attachment below for report on the recent May half term bug hunt.

NEW MEMBERS - Please print off the membership application form and bring along with you to one of our Halcyon events or mail it to the address on the form.
