Proud Partners for Guatemala Literacy Project

Posted by Adrian Bita, Monday, June 13th, 2016 @ 10:59am

  • We are proud partners for Guatemala Literacy Project (GLP).
GLP is an initiative between Rotary International clubs and the non-profit organization Cooperative for Education (CoEd) to provide badly needed textbooks, computer labs, scholarships, literacy and training programs to underprivileged children in Guatemala.

Since 1997, the GLP's sustainable programs have been established in 256 impoverished rural communties. There are over 23,500 students using textbooks at 184 schools. The GLP has also founded 43 self-funding computer centers and 62 primary reading programs. The project is working with the goal of ensuring that no child in Guatemela grows up without the gift of both traditional and technological literacy.

100% of funds collected go to the hard costs of the project. Not one cent goes to administration and fuindraising
