Alban Arthan - the Winter Solstice, June 20
The programme will begin with a short presentation by Richard Hall on the starlore of antiquity and astronomy of the equinox.
Time will be allowed for a ceremony, dance, music or other way of celebrating the season, but this must be arranged in advance. Please contact us if you are interested: firstname.lastname@example.org
We will then observe the sun set over the summer solstice heelstone.
The sun sets at sea level at 7:32pm but will set earlier at Stonehenge Aotearoa due to the hills in the west.
Bookings are essential.
Cost: Adults $8, pre-teens $4, pre-schoolers in family groups are free.
