Saturday 21 March is the day of the Autumn Equinox. We have put
together a special presentation for Stonehenge Aotearoa
Tales of the Equinox
These are the stories from antiquity that formed a
cornerstone to our beliefs and the rise of civilisation. Weather
permitting the programme will include viewing the Sun set over the
Equinox Heel Stone. You are welcome to bring food and drink for a
sunset meal. Fee: Adults $8, Children $4. Bookings essential;

Autumn Equinox at Stonehenge Aotearoa, Sat March 21, 4:30pm
The programme will begin with a short presentation by Richard Hall on the starlore of antiquity and astronomy of the equinox.
Time will be allowed for a ceremony, dance, music or other way of celebrating the season, but this must be arranged in advance. Please contact us if you are interested: email@example.com
We will then observe the sun set over the summer solstice heelstone.
The sun sets at sea level at 7:32pm but will set earlier at Stonehenge Aotearoa due to the hills in the west.
Bookings are essential.
