11:30am ANNULAR ECLIPSE & SOLAR OBSERVING -
with Robin Warnes & Edwin Rodley
Join us at the observatory for solar observing. There will be a partial solar eclipse – don’t forget to bring your solar viewers from the Transit of Venus. Experienced solar observer Steve Chadwick of Levin will also have his two H-alpha solar telescopes to view the sun.
2:00pm Afternoon tea and observatory/clubrooms tidy-up
3:00pm Solar Observing. Session ends at 4pm.

In the constellation of Carina, almost overhead at this time of the year, is the largest star-forming region that we can observe in our Milky Way Galaxy. In this presentation we explore this great nebula and follow the evolution of the gigantic star that lies at its heart.
