Birth of our World    Presentation by John Creech

Using research material from his PHD thesis John will present the geological evidence for the precise date of the formation of the Earth, its composition and differentiation. Much of this work was based upon the studies of meteorites – fragments from other planetary bodies and debris left over from the formation of the planets. 

Catastrophe – Birth of the Planet

Following in the theme of John’s talk, after a tea/coffee break, we have a spectacular documentary on the difficult birth of our planet.

Observing: Weather permitting telescope viewing may be held after the meeting.

Head down this drive to the Huntleigh GirlGuiding Centre (do not head down to the Playcentre)

The centre is a good sheltered site in Wellington for observing so bring your camera and scope.
