3. Book launch: Transit of Venus / Venustransit poetry exchange, 23 February, Wellington
The event will include a video performance from Berlin-based poets Hinemoana Baker and Ulrike Almut Sandig and live readings from poets Chris Price and Glenn Colquhoun. This will be followed by a conversation between the poets and the eco-restoration Uawanui Project chair Victor Walker about how the Transit not only generated poetry but also inspired a pervasive ‘science psyche’ inthe Uawa/Tolaga Bay community.
Chaired by Professor Lydia Wevers ONZM, member of the Transit of Venus Forum steering committee, the event will feature poetry previously performed at the Frankfurt Book Fair as part of New Zealand’s Country of Honour programme in 2012.
Refreshments will be served following the event. Attendance is free but reservations are recommended.
