Upper Tweed Railway Paths
A group of interested local residents are working towards opening up the disused railway lines in Upper Tweed to become cycling, walking, horse riding and running trails. The idea is to open them up between Symington and Peebles, creating a safe network of traffic-free routes for visitors and locals alike. This would be fantastic resource for all, and importantly, will boost our local economy through additional tourism.
The group have a website funded by a grant from Paths for All. Please have a look and log on as a supporter at www.uppertweedrailwaypaths.org.uk. Furthermore, if you have an organisation who would benefit from the route, perhaps you would consider submitting a statement on the website which would support us and give you publicity? Supporters will get a news bulletin as soon as there is news to share. This is a long term project but we can apply for funding for a feasibility study once we reach 1000 supporters. We already have well over 100 supporters in just a fortnight of going live, but we need many more. It takes just a minute to do, and costs you nothing. Thank you!
