You are ALL invited to come along to our Talam meeting/mini show 'n' share tomorrow evening!
When: Thursday 5th at 6pm
Where: Morley Fletcher Room, Worcester College
We're looking for musicians, dancers and singers to take part in our big annual Talam show. Tomorrow will be our first whole-society meeting on Talam, so everyone that is interested should definitely come along! Last year's Talam was a brilliant display of all types of arts, including Bharatanatyam, tabla drumming, and vocal fusions - we want Talam 2014 to be even more vibrant and varied if possible!
All types of Indian classical dance performers are welcome. If you're a Kathak or Odissi dancer at beginner/intermediate level, then please come along! All other classical dancers at advanced level should also definitely consider coming along and joining in as well. We've got some brilliant plans on what to perform already, but it would be great to hear more suggestions from you guys!
All musicians (including vocalists, violinists, tabla players, veena players, etc.) at ANY level are more than welcome. The more the merrier really does apply here. As an added bonus, OICAS musicians will be working on a fusion piece - any musicians (literally anyone, you don't have to play an Indian musical instrument at all!) interested in this exciting opportunity to collaborate with the World Music Society should definitely come along to the meeting tomorrow.
This is a great opportunity to get together as a society and showcase your talents, so don't hold back from expressing your interest. Click here for the TALAM 2013 trailer to get a flavour for Talam!
The Bharatanatyam performing group of OICAS will also be dancing at the Diwali ball again! It's on Saturday 3rd November and it's an awesome night - definitely recommend it. Tickets are £45 or £40 for HUMSoc members. Tickets will be on sale this Saturday at the end of the Bharatanatyam beginner's class (12pm) at St Hugh's for anyone who'd like to buy a ticket.
