Featured Mitzvah Projects
Leveling the Playing Field - Ethan Ethan is collecting used sports equipment to share with kids from underserved areas so that they can enjoy playing sports as much as he does. Bring any used equipment such as balls, baseball bats and mits, hockey sticks, etc. any morning to Sunday School or contact Ethan at email@example.com for a pick-up at your home. For more information, see www.LevelingthePlayingField.org.
Bags for the Bay - Ally Helping animals and the environment is very important to me. For my Bat Mitzvah project I am helping the Chesapeake Bay because it is very polluted and this harms wildlife and our environment. I am having fun turning T- shirts into bags. Bags for the Bay are reusable and washable bags that save the Chesapeake Bay! You can have your own shirts sewn into bags or purchase one that is pre-made for a suggested donation of $5 per bag.

Welcome Rabbah Arlene!
We are so pleased to welcome our new rabbi - Rabbah Arlene Berger - to Olney Kehila. She is thrilled to be part of our small and inclusive community, and has enjoyed meeting our members at our Mitzvah day on May 31st. She also led her first Shabbat with our community on June 5th, and looks forward to being part of our outreach effort at the Sunday Farmer's Market in Olney this summer. Rabbah Arlene will be working closely with our Education Director, Lisa, on planning for next school year and other programming for adults as well. See our "Leadership" page for more about Rabbah Arlene's background and feel free to reach out to her by contacting us .
If you would like to be included on our emailing list and receive Olney Kehila updates please send us an email at: email@example.com. We promise we will not sell your email nor will we inundate your email box. This is a great way to "stay in the loop."
