This event is in the past.
NOTE START POINT please.
The Plan:- Cycle to catch 10.20 train from Stratford to Richmond.(train takes exactly one hour) Overground, bring Oyster Cards etc.
Distance an easy 13 miles.
We then have lots of options 1) train home or cycle part or all the way back an extra 20 miles.or
Maybe cycle via richmond park to Putney and take train to either waterloo or stratford and pedal home from there. We can decide on the day according to weather and legs!
The main attraction:-
West London Palaces, are a delight to visit and idea destinations for cycles rides. The area around Syon House and Osterley, the two great 18th century works of Robert Adam includes many quiet roads and bike routes that take you through parks and along canals. In the 19th century most of the area was rural and there are moments on this ride where you might think you are still in the countryside.
Highlights:- Richmond Riverfront. Grand Union Canal (quiet part), Osterley house (national Trust), Syon House. (both have cafe's) couple of pub options also.
